Welcome to the 2025 BHSEA Awards. There will be five Awards, with one of the Awards voted for by you the Members.
The awards ceremony will take place at the December 8th Event and all winners will receive a trophy.
Details of how to vote for the Hugh Five Award will be published in early October
Chairman’s Special Recognition Award
As a voluntary-run organisation, BHSEA is largely dependent on the commitment, time and resources of trustees and the management committee. It also receives support and input from a plethora of organisations, health and safety institutions, educational establishments, and others to ensure that the range of services and events are the very best they can be and serve the needs of members.
This award is exclusively chosen by BHSEA’s chairman to recognise and celebrate a BHSEA member that exudes excellent health, safety and environment practises. It recognises their practical support, valuable contributions, and proactivity in raising the profile of BHSEA and ensuring that members get the very best, professionally and personally, from being part of the association.
Membership Recognition Award
As a membership association, we are always keen to expand the numbers of businesses and individuals benefiting from our range of services. This year has seen renewed focused and several specific activities to grow the overall size of the membership base.
This award recognises the valuable support, and promotion, that an individual member has given during the last 12 months to specifically refer new members to join BHSEA. The winner of this award is the person who has provided, overall, the most referrals during the year.
Membership Spotlight Award
BHSEA exists purely for its members. Each member is encouraged, through lots of different ways, to get the best out of their membership by being aware of, getting involved in and actively participating in the range of events, social media and training activities that are delivered each year.
This award recognises an individual who is considered, by the judges, to have been the most engaged member throughout the last year. Aspects such as meeting attendance, social media interaction, involvement in asking questions, participation in the membership survey, volunteering to give a presentation and membership referrals will be reviewed to determine the winner.
Construction Special Achievement Award
Individuals and businesses in construction represent the highest proportion of members within BHSEA, and as such, this special award is designed to recognise the contribution and support of an individual or company specifically within this sector.
The award will again look at the members overall engagement and participation and will include meeting attendance especially to WWT construction events, social media interaction, input to membership survey and referrals overall. The judges will use these criteria to determine who the winner will be.
High Five Award
In this, the first year of BHSEA Awards, we wanted to showcase the quality and quantity of events and presentations that are organised to support members in being better informed, able to connect with others, get answers, expand knowledge, and support CPD. We also wanted to know which events of the last 12 months you thought were the best. So, this award is one that the BHSEA membership will exclusively decide.
BHSEA members will be given the opportunity to vote on what they considered to be the most impactful and effective presentation for them and their business. The winner of this award will be the presentation or event with the most overall votes. It’s as simple as that.
